Down the Southern Outlet from Hobart, Kingston has the feel of a town in fast-forward — new estates climbing the hills above Channel Court, school runs along Beach Road, and waterfront stretches at Kingston Beach and Tyndall Beach. From Taroona on the way down, through Kingston and Blackmans Bay, out as far as Margate — these are the streets we're in most weeks.
Down the Southern Outlet from Hobart, Kingston is the heart of Kingborough — Channel Court at the centre, schools spread either side, Kingston Beach at the bottom of the hill. Most of our work down here is new-build family homes: NBN connections that need the Wi-Fi pushed beyond the original spot the installer left it, mesh systems for two-storey homes, and family TV setups in the lounge.
South of Kingston along Roslyn Avenue, Blackmans Bay's a quieter waterfront stretch — older homes near the foreshore, newer estates climbing the hills, the lookout over the Channel. Wi-Fi range and smart-home cameras around the bigger blocks make up the bulk of visits down here.
Further south past Snug, Margate's still inside the day's drive but starts to feel more rural. Family homes, the odd small business along the highway, and the occasional shed-office that needs Wi-Fi extended out the back. A small distance fee applies beyond 25 km, but nothing dramatic.
Heading back toward Sandy Bay, Taroona sits between Kingston and the city — a mix of waterfront homes, quieter family streets and the old Shot Tower. We pick up Wi-Fi extension jobs, new-NBN setups and the occasional move-house IT migration along this stretch.
